The £18 Cheeseburger: What a Meal at Dalaman Airport Really Costs in 2025

Let’s talk about airport food, shall we? We all know it’s not exactly budget-friendly, but even I did a double take at Dalaman Airport this year when my wife fancied a McDonald’s before our flight.

Now, I’m all for treating yourself—travel days are stressful, after all—but when the receipt came in at £18 for a cheeseburger, fries, and a Coke, I nearly choked on my homemade chicken sandwich (which, by the way, cost about £0.50 to make and tasted great).
Yes, you read that right: £18 for one meal. That’s not a family combo or some deluxe burger tower with gold leaf and truffle oil. Just your standard cheeseburger meal, served in a paper bag with a side of airport vibes.
For the curious (or the financially brave), I’ve included a copy of the receipt below as proof that I'm not exaggerating. It’s not a scam—it’s just airport pricing at its finest.
🥪 So, what are your options at Dalaman Airport?
Bring your own sandwich – A DIY delight and much kinder on the wallet.
Stick to snacks and water – Fill up on crisps, fruit, or whatever you can sneak through security.
Pay the price for convenience – Hey, no judgement. Sometimes a craving is worth the splurge.
Go hungry and make a meal of plane snacks – Bold strategy. May result in buying another £6 Pringles tin mid-air.
On this trip, I went full budget-traveller with my chicken sandwich, and honestly, no regrets. But my wife really wanted a McDonald’s—sometimes only fries will do—and she paid the price (literally). To be fair I made my sandwich with the leftovers in our aprtment fridge - This didnt include butter so opted for mayonaise albiet out of date by six months.
Moral of the story?
If you're flying out of Dalaman in 2025 and fancy a burger, be prepared to fork out nearly twenty quid. Or… start packing those sandwiches.
Bon voyage—and bon appétit!
